About Me -My approach
About Gina Saka, LMT – My Approach to Healing
I discovered massage in 1999 and instantly knew it was my calling. Back then, I took an introductory massage class — a prerequisite for massage school — and from the very first touch, I felt it. The connection, the energy, the sense of purpose — I knew this was for me. I turned to my teacher, and she smiled and nodded. That moment confirmed my path.
During massage school, we were required to volunteer 30 hours at a local clinic. I ended up at the Aids Alternative Health Care Center, a place far ahead of its time. One morning, exhausted and not wanting to go, I dragged myself there anyway. That day, a man living with HIV, suffering from neuropathy in his feet, said, “I’m so glad you are here today — I look forward to it all week.” His words and gratitude were so powerful that I still cry when I think about that moment. It was the first time I realized that massage could be emotioinal, sacred, and transformative — more than muscle work, more than a spa treatment. I was holding space for someone vulnerable, and it changed the trajectory of my approach in my practice.
That clinic was also my first experience working alongside skilled healers — craniosacral therapists, acupuncturists, energy healers, and more. It wasn’t hierarchical or competitive; we supported and learned from each other. That collaborative, “zen vibe” shaped the way I approach sessions today: with presence, attunement, and respect for each person’s body and story.
Over the years, my work has evolved toward gentle, restorative bodywork, including Craniosacral Balancing and Manual Lymphatic Drainage, helping women’s bodies and nervous systems relax, recover, and flourish. I am a trauma survivor, which informs my compassionate approach, but my work is about care, calm, and restoration, not determined solely by trauma.
Healing is deeply personal, and my approach blends decades of professional training, hands-on experience, and intuitive insight to create sessions that are supportive, empowering, and profoundly restorative.
